It was a former Dominican convent founded in 1575 by the bishop of Cordoba and in 1836, by the decree of exclaustration, it became part of the National Assets. In 1844 it was auctioned off and became private property. The building was once an aniseed factory, oil mill and wine cellar. It conserves a splendid Mannerist porticoed courtyard with semicircular arches and columns on a pedestal base. In the centre of the courtyard is a fountain surrounded by a garden and palm trees. The building has now been restored, recovering the central porticoed courtyard and a second rear courtyard as open green spaces for the enjoyment of all citizens and will be converted into a multi-purpose public centre for public service. The rest of the building is designed in a versatile way for various functional uses such as exhibitions, teaching, social uses, meetings, etc., with a total of 11 rooms spread over the three floors.
