The Casa del Parque de Villafáfila is the Interpretation Centre of the Nature Reserve of the Villafáfila Lagoons, which is complemented by the observatories and interpretation resources that exist in different parts of the territory of Tierra de Campos.
The Lagunas de Villafáfila form a large area of international importance, with great natural, scenic and faunal value in an ecosystem formed by saline lagoons and the saline meadows that surround them, being one of the most important wintering areas for birds in the Iberian Peninsula.
It is the habitat of one of the largest populations of Great Bustard (Otis tarda) in the world, as well as other species of great interest linked to the steppe such as the Lesser Kestrel, Montagu's Harrier, Little Bustard and Black-bellied Sandpiper. As nesting birds, the stilt, the avocet, the marsh harrier, the black-billed nightjar, the lapwing, the mallard, the little grebe, the little grebe, the white stork, the shoveler duck and the little plover stand out. The only wintering or passage birds are the Greylag Goose, Crane, Gadwall, Gadwall, Teal and Spoonbill.
