A festival of marked interest in Extremadura, declared by the Junta de Extremadura as a Festival of Tourist and Regional Interest in 1987. A dish called Chanfaina is made by the participants from the clubs that take part in the contest for the best dish. In addition to the competition, there is a Multi-sector Fair of Companies and Associations, a National Iberian Ham Cutters' Competition in Extremadura, shearing and performances by folk groups.
