The festival of the Cruz de Mayo is held on the first Sunday in May every year. On this day, the village square is decorated for the celebration of the popular mass, with a 3.5 metre high iron cross decorated with flowers. At the foot of the Altar a carpet of flowers is laid with the Chalice, the Sacred Form and the text "Viva la Cruz Bendita" (Long live the Blessed Cross).
The procession starts with the central axis being a bouquet adorned with roscas, which is currently carried by the Quintos of that year. The women are dressed in regional costume, laden with offerings that are given during the mass and then auctioned off.
Recently, a gathering has been held on the day before the Cross of May, i.e. the first Saturday in May or the last Saturday in April. This gathering takes place in the picnic area on the right bank of the river Jerte as it passes through Carcaboso. It consists of spending a pleasant day in the countryside with friends, family and other residents of Carcaboso.
