Ermita Cristo de la Piedad
- Vía de la Plata desde Sevilla / Aldeanueva del Camino-La Calzada de Béjar
Its original construction could be from the 16th or early 17th century, but it is not possible to know for sure, since in the 19th century it underwent a major renovation that completely changed it. Originally it had a square floor plan with a portico the same size as the temple, which was most likely flanked by columns. The 19th century renovation eliminated the portico, since the hermitage was expanded above it. The renovation also led to: the unification of the exterior sgraffito, the construction of a new doorway, and the interior decoration was done ex-anova, respecting the previous altarpiece placed in 1730, as stated on the entrance plaque. It is worth highlighting a carving of Christ crucified and the altarpiece, made with great skill.
