Hermitage of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste, in Monterrubio de la Serena, has its origins in medieval times, when it was built in honour of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste, a group of Roman soldiers who were martyred for refusing to renounce their Christian faith, from the 18th century with a markedly rural character. It consists of a single nave, sacristy and small chancel. Its granite façade stands out on the outside. It is open on mass days, which are Thursday mornings.
