The Hermitage of San José is a box-shaped hermitage, built in rendered masonry. Attached to the left side is a quadrangular bell tower that shares its first third of the wall with the hermitage, while at the same time doubling its height. Inside the hermitage there is a niche and a floral ornament, with the sculpture of the saint on a processional step located between the altar and the sculpture. The altar is crowned by a half-orange vault. The chapel was remodelled in 1710 and the works were paid for by the priest José Gómez de la Torre, who donated the famous parata de San José.
This priest also built the Chapel of the Virgen de los Dolores, the vault where the priest is buried.
