Carmen Chapel. It occupies part of the site where the old Hospital de San Bernardo used to stand, right on the corner of the eastern part of the latter, attached to the houses that face the parish church and the square that this hermitage names.
The building has a central floor plan covered with an enormous dome with a drum and lantern that magnificently illuminates the interior.
The orientation of the building does not follow the established rules, as the spatial and urban conditions obliged the architects not to force the possibility of making the orientation according to the construction tradition, as this would alter and damage the monumental appearance of the building.
The façade, which is beautifully executed with an arch spanning like a pediment supported by lateral columns, is decorated on the lintel of the door with reliefs whose central theme is the Franciscan coat of arms carried by two angels surrounded by Baroque plant motifs.
We know that it was the chapel of the old hospital of San Bernardo, although the current building is a completely refurbished work from the second half or end of the 18th century.
