Escultura de Ángel Duarte

Ángel Duarte (Aldeanueva del Camino, Cáceres, 1930 - Sion, Switzerland, 2007) was an artist who formed part of the aesthetic currents of the 1950s based on geometric abstraction. An international reference of this avant-garde, he was part of Equipo 57 together with Jorge Oteiza and Luis Aguilera, José Duarte, Juan Serrano and Agustín Ibarrola. His work is based on non-Eucladian geometry and deals with questions of movement, space and multiplicity. The mathematical concept and the temporal dimension are fundamental parts of the discourse that articulates his work.
