Fiestas de San Roque de Valdeobispo

The festivities of San Roque "El Chico", patron saint of Valdeobispo, are held on 15 and 16 August. The festival consists of a mass, offerings and procession, during which the "echa la bandera", which consists of waving a flag to the sound of the flute and tambourine, is held in honour of this saint. In the evening, the traditional verbenas (street parties) take place in the village square.

The festival of San Roque "El Chico" is so called because the real celebration takes place on 15 September, but it is brought forward a month because in the past it was the time of the harvest and the men were unable to attend. In addition, in August there are more visitors and emigrants in the village.
