Founded in 1967, although the present building and church date from 1707. With a single nave, it is divided into four bays. The first is covered by the choir loft. The second is covered by a groin vault, as is the third, which in turn opens onto two side chapels in the form of a transept. The main altar is covered with a hemispherical dome on pendentives, without lunettes. The carved and gilded wooden main altarpiece is an anonymous work completed in 1785. It has three aisles occupied by niches, separated by Solomonic columns at the ends and stipes in the centre. The attic forms a semicircular leafy arch with the hearts of the Augustinian Order and of the Anguish of the Virgin Mary, and a crucifix in the centre. This altarpiece replaced an earlier one from 1713. In the central chapel are the images of Our Lady of Sorrows and the recumbent Christ. An extraordinary sculptural ensemble from Granada that accompanied the nuns on their founding journey in 1697. It is attributed to the circle of José de Mora and dates from the third quarter of the 17th century. It is a representation of the Virgin of the Pietà, an iconography of Germanic Gothic origin to which is added the attribute of the swords piercing Mary's heart. As for the carving of Christ, it is undoubtedly one of the best pieces of dead Christ in Andalusian imagery of all time.
