The Church of Consolation is the main temple of the city. The third friars of the Franciscan order settled there at the beginning of the 16th century, but the construction process of the church is long and full of modifications, lasting until the end of the 18th century. In this temple is the Virgen de las Mercedes, Patroness of the city.
