The construction of this temple began in 1801 at the request of the Dukes of Medinaceli and the work, which was carried out by the Lucentino architect Andrés Cordón, was completed in 1814. It is a neoclassical temple with a Latin cross floor plan. It has three naves. The side naves are covered by four small elliptical domes, while the central nave has a barrel vault and lunettes, topped by a grandiose hemispherical dome without a drum, arranged over the transept. Attributed to Francisco José Guerrero, the majestic main altarpiece is made of gilded wood on a green background and is decorated in the third third third of the 18th century, dating from around 1770. The altarpiece also houses the image of the patron saint, Our Father Jesus of Sorrows, Ecce homo, made of paper pulp in 1664.
