Church from the end of the 16th century and beginning of the 17th century that has undergone various reforms in recent centuries, some of them very recent, which are:
- Internally: the original plaster was chipped away, replacing it with granite ashlars, the roof was changed for a more modern one, the altar vault was chipped away, leaving the brickwork visible, the choir was completely removed, leaving a small reminiscence that is what remains today.
- Externally: the opening of new openings in the walls for the construction of new windows, the vestry raises the roof until it is equal to that of the temple.
The last sections of the bell tower are of recent construction and are even crowned with cement; no traces of sgraffito can be seen, although in all probability it originally had it. The temple houses a large collection of movable property such as: a large altarpiece from the 17th century, a large number of images, including the titular image of the temple, which follows the canons of one from the school of Gregorio Fernández, and two oil-painted panels (Saint Peter and Saint Paul).
The temple is internally divided into two distinct areas, which are:
- The presbytery: the main altar is located here, which is presided over by the altarpiece and is covered by a vault, separated from the central nave by a semicircular arch.
- Naves: the temple has a central nave and two side naves, which are smaller in size, separated from each other by a pair of semicircular arches. It should be noted that the naves are cut transversely by a series of semicircular arches, coinciding at the start with the pillars of the arches that separate the naves.
