IGLESIA DE SAN CRISTÓBAL, RIEGO DEL CAMINO
Temple from the 16th century in honour of San Cristóbal.
It consists of a single nave, with a dome in the transept and coffered ceiling. The belfry is built in masonry over the gable and has a graceful brick coping that rips three openings with semicircular arches.
The main altarpiece is its most outstanding work: Baroque in style and with Solomonic columns, it houses its patron saint in the centre: San Cristóbal, an 18th century figure. The attic is occupied by the image of the Virgin of Carmen, and there are also figures of Saint Anthony, Saint Lucia, Saint Joseph and the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Of the side altarpieces, the altarpiece of the Cristo de la Vera Cruz (Christ of the True Cross), a 17th century work under a trilobular arch, is particularly noteworthy.
The altarpiece of the Virgin of the Rosary, a dress image, is simpler and has a small carving of Saint Nicholas in the attic. In front of it is the Virgen de la Dolorosa, which is also a dressed image, from the same period as the Virgen del Rosario.
