Work began on 25 June 1928 and the first stone was laid. The blessing of the temple was celebrated on the 30th of November 1928 and it was consecrated in honour of the Patriarch Saint Joseph and the Virgin of the Rosary. The altar represents Christ Crucified and Saint Joseph. on entering through the main door, on the right in one of the wings there are three stained glass windows depicting scenes of the Virgin Mary, the Annunciation, the Birth of Jesus and Pentecost. in the background there is the Virgin of the Rosary, patron saint of El Cuervo.
