The Parish Church of San Juan Bautista was built in the 16th century, at the height of the Baroque splendour in Spain. Its main façade, elaborately decorated with sculptural details and reliefs, is a perfect example of the architecture of the period. Inside, you can admire numerous works of sacred art, such as altarpieces, carvings and paintings dating from different periods and styles. Of particular note is the 18th century image of the Virgin Valvanera (patron saint of La Rioja), which is not known how it came to be in this parish church. It is open on Friday and Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings.
