IGLESIA DE SAN MIGUEL, MONTAMARTA

The Church of San Miguel Arcángel is a building erected in 1910 by the builder Francisco Nieto, using the remains of a previous church from 1720. Only part of the wall of the belfry remains standing, where a commemorative stone slab and a small piece of the adjoining wall can still be seen. It was built with bricks from the nearby town of El Perdigón and tiles from the Tejar of this town.

The main altarpiece has San Miguel Arcángel in its central niche, and in the side niches, the saints of the convent of Los Jerónimos.

The most significant images are the Virgen Dolorosa, which is a dress image, or the carving of San Andrés who died crucified.
