It was founded in the 13th century as a defensive building, although the church was completed in the 16th century. It stands out for its strategic position, its robust granite ashlar masonry, its classicist façade and its bell tower, the remains of the tower of the old castle. It is an excellent vantage point from which to enjoy Hervás and the Ambroz Valley.
