The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, in the category of ‘Monument’, on 17th December 1991.

It was built between the 13th and 14th centuries. It was restored and enlarged in the 16th century with a main chapel and tower, whose master was Pedro de Ybarra. The tower-belfry has a square floor plan, topped with a balustraded terrace and flambeaux. Several pairs of storks currently nest in it. There are 3 other smaller chapels. One of them is where the baptismal font, dating from the 16th century, was located. The other chapel houses the image of Jesús Nazareno, which has a segmental arch, supported by an advanced gallery of decorated modillions on the front. The Vera Cruz chapel is closed with a wrought iron gate. The sacristy is in the Plateresque style. The altarpiece is structured in three large sections, divided into seven streets, and an attic topped by a pediment, where the sculptures and paintings show Romanesque and pre-baroque styles.

Mass is offered daily in the afternoon in addition to those held at weekends. This is when the church remains open.
