The cathedral was declared a ‘BIC’ in 1995. It is a work of the 16th and 17th centuries. The church has a very solid appearance, of large dimensions, wide walls with adequately sized buttresses crowned by pinnacles. On the main façade, two large, parallel, vertical plinths stand out, with four well-crafted, fluted Corinthian-style columns rising above them. There is a beautiful carving of St. James the Apostle inside.
