la Ermita del Castillo

The hermitage of Nuestra Señora del Castillo is one of the most representative examples of Mudejar religious architecture in Western Andalusia. Its construction was a Christian work erected next to the old parade ground of the castle around the second half of the 14th century. Proof of this is its declaration as a Historic-Artistic Monument from the early date of 1931. The original basilica-like ground plan with three naves separated by horseshoe arches, has three independent areas, destined for the presbytery, sacristy and secondary chapel.
