La Jira de La Haba

It is the most characteristic day of the Semana Santa in La Haba, a day in the countryside, where the traveller is welcome. This day is celebrated all over Extremadura and each village has its own place for it. In La Haba, the people of La Haba move to the area around the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de La Antigua, where they spend a memorable day together with their neighbours and other visitors who come to visit them at this time of year and especially on that day.
As the story goes, it may seem like a simple day in the countryside, it may be that simplicity, it may be because of the open arms and open hearts of the people of Jávea, it may be because of the landscape, but ‘la jira’ is not to be told, it is to be experienced.
