The Municipal Archaeological Museum is the oldest local museum in the province. It is housed in the Casa de Cultura, a building constructed at the beginning of the 20th century. It has archaeological pieces representative of the region and the municipality itself. In the courtyard of the Casa de la Cultura there are paleontological and archaeological remains from different periods: Palaeolithic, Epipalaeolithic, Chalcolithic, Bronze Age, Colonization, Iberian Culture, Roman, Hispano-Visigothic, Hispano-Muslim, Modern and Contemporary periods. Among the pieces deposited in this museum space are Roman sculptures such as a carving of a sleeping Eros, an image of Dionysus and a replica of a unique example of the divinity of Mithra Tauroctonos, the original of which is in the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Cordoba. Also of note are several Roman mosaics, ceramics from different periods, coins, a good collection of prehistoric lithic industry, and above all the collection of Tartessian vessels which occupy a prominent place in the museum, with a room dedicated to this archaeological ensemble. The Archaeological Museum has progressively incorporated new pieces and elements from new archaeological sites that have been discovered in recent years.
