Noche Flamenca de Cartaojal

Cartaojal is a district of Antequera and although it has little more than 1,000 inhabitants, it has a flamenco festival which they called Noche Flamenca at the end of the 20th century (1997). This great flamenco event in Malaga is organised by the Peña Flamenca Paco de Antequera, in Cartaojal, from where they have always defended the jondura and traditional flamenco, in particular they are quite fond of singing, as is the president of the peña, Francisco Pozo. The Noche Flamenca de Cartaojal usually takes place at the beginning of July, at the dawn of summer, the starting signal for the great flamenco events of Andalusia, which tour the eight provinces in favour of open-air flamenco at its best.
