The Parador de Zafra is located in what was once the palace of the Dukes of Feria. The building is a clear example of its long and rich history, which includes the Extremaduran discoverer Hernán Cortés, an illustrious guest of the palace. The building was originally a fortress, and from a Muslim fortress it became the palatial residence of the dukes. Its spectacular façade gives way to a refined interior with nine original towers crowned with battlements. The Parador conserves beautiful coffered ceilings, chests, ironwork, handrails and decorative elements from the old palace. The beautiful interior courtyard and the spectacular views of the city from the terrace stand out. The hotel also offers a wide selection of spacious and stately rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and a well-tended garden.
