Parque Los Miliarios

A milestone, from the Latin miliarium, is a cylindrical, oval or parallelepiped column that was placed on the edge of Roman roads to mark distances every thousand paces, i.e. every Roman mile, which is equivalent to a distance of approximately 1,480 metres. 

In Carcaboso, a town located in the north of Extremadura and crossed by the Vía de la Plata (Silver Route), we can see several examples of Roman milestones in this space located to the right of the church.
