Parroquia de San Francisco de Asís

In 1575, a Royal Decree authorised the foundation of a convent in what is now Avenida de San Francisco, which at that time was near the Puerta de la Villa. A convent run by Franciscans. The temple is a single-nave building with a presbytery, general body and an octagonal chapel attached to the north side. It has a vaulted ceiling and a dome in the transept. The church was built in 1595, at the end of the Renaissance period and the beginning of the Baroque period.
