The old hermitage dates back to 1601 and 1602, on the initiative of the residents of Las Cabezas themselves, who gradually built it from what was originally a simple calvary called Huerto de San Roque, to what we suppose to be a simple stone construction dating from the 17th century. The first date on which this hermitage is mentioned is 24 August 1686. In those early days the hermitage was at one end of the village, uninhabited, but with the passage of time and the growth of the population it acquired a more strategic location.
The current parish church sits on top of the old hermitage. Popularly known as the hermitage of San Roque, it was built between 1955-1967. It is a simple construction. Here we can find one of the most venerated images in the town, the image of Jesús Nazareno, a complete carving from the circle of Pedro Roldán. The image of La Virgen de las Angustias, a candelabra image belonging to the sculptor Gabriel de Astorga (1853), the image of San Juan Evangelista, an image venerated by the young population, due to its features inscribed in the school of Roldán. One of the oldest altarpieces in the town; Santa Ana (18th century), a beautiful Cristo Atado a la Columna (17th century).
