The bridge, located on the outskirts of Medellín, crosses the course of the Guadiana River. Its origins date back to the 17th century. The bridge, whose construction would have been completed in 1630 after the deterioration of a previous bridge, has a total of twenty arches along its length. The remains of the foundations of an earlier bridge from Roman times, which no longer exists, can be seen nearby. El Camino de Santiago leaves Medellín by crossing it.
