Lebrija has one of the largest Holy Week celebrations in terms of the number of brotherhoods in the province of Seville. A total of nine brotherhoods carry out their penitential processions from Palm Sunday to Good Friday. It has a great artistic and devotional value with brotherhoods dating back to the sixteenth century, as well as the Virgen del Castillo Coronada, one of the oldest images of Holy Week in the province of Seville and with the greatest devotional value, which is a carving dating from the late thirteenth or early fourteenth century. In 1989 it was also restored by Professor Miñarro. This brotherhood has more than two thousand members. Dolores (Dawn)
The dawn starts at three in the morning with the departure of the brotherhood of Dolores from the Convent of San Francisco. This corporation is the union of the brotherhoods of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno and the Servite brotherhood of Los Dolores. The former was founded in 1587 and the Lord dates from the second third of the 17th century. In 1981 Rafael Barbero carried out an adaptation of the Lord which modified it. One of the valuable pieces of the trousseau of this image is the tunic embroidered in gold on purple velvet from the end of the 18th century.
