SCULPTURE OF VIRIATO, BY EDUARDO BARRÓN
The famous Zamora sculptor Eduardo Barrón (Moraleja del Vino, Zamora, 1858-1911) is the author of this Statue of Viriato, one of his most famous works, which won the silver medal at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts 1884.
It depicts the Lusitanian leader who led the battle against the Roman legions, whom he defeated on numerous occasions despite his numerical inferiority.

The granite stone comes from Torrefrades (Zamora).
