Vísperas Nupciales

The reenactment of the Nuptial Vespers in Aldeatejada is a festival that commemorates the stay of Infanta Maria Manuela of Portugal in the town in 1543, before her wedding to Prince Philip II in Salamanca at the Alonso de Solís Palace. During this event, the town is transformed into a Renaissance village, with residents dressed in period costumes made in community workshops. The streets are filled with activities such as parades, Renaissance balls, knight tournaments, falconry displays, and a period-themed market. This celebration not only commemorates a historical event but also strengthens the cultural identity of Aldeatejada, promoting community participation and attracting numerous visitors each year.
