The Guadiato-Bembézar Special Area of Conservation (SAC) is a protected natural area located on the southern slope of Sierra Morena, in the province of Córdoba, Andalusia. Declared by Decree 110/2015, of March 17, this area covers approximately 114,738 hectares and is part of the Natura 2000 Network. Characterized by dehesas and Mediterranean woodlands, it is home to emblematic species such as the black stork, the Iberian imperial eagle, the Iberian lynx, and the otter. It is an ideal place for activities such as hiking, bird watching, and environmental education.

The Guadiato-Bembézar Special Area of Conservation has an average altitude of 461 m, with variations between 80 and 880 m, and annual temperatures of between 14 and 17 ºC. Evapotranspiration is higher in the lower southern areas, and most of the area is not at risk of desertification, except in areas with steep slopes or agricultural activities. Soils such as cambisols and regosols predominate, and the landscape is dominated by holm oak groves transformed by agriculture and livestock farming. In addition, the area has olive groves, vineyards and scrubland in different states of degradation.
