We will spend most of the day walking through the high lands of the Sierra Seca, in a succession of almost uninhabited villages, here called vendas, such as A Venda do Espiño, A Venda da Teresa, A Venda da Capela, A Venda do Bolaño. With wide views over the Portas reservoir and after a steep descent, we arrive at Campobecerro, with a hostel. This is the right place to recover and stock up on supplies, as we still have a long way to go. After visiting the church of the Asunción, with a modern Santiago on the façade, we set off towards Porto Camba, climbing through wooded hills.
At the exit of the small village we find a cross, erected in memory of the pilgrims who died on the way. A fountain and a rest area await us in As Erias, a village with beautiful scenery on the way down to Laza, which is the largest village on today's stage since we left. At the bottom of a wide, green valley, it has a Gothic church and a beautiful cross on four pillars. It is a very famous town in Galicia for its carnival festivities.
