From the church square, the path continues and takes us out of the town centre along the path that the miners used to follow from the mines to Jérez del Marquesado, where we reach the church and a majestic stone cross that protects the pilgrim, the first one on the Mozarabic Way made by a Galician craftsman. Leaving Jérez and leaving the mines of Santa Constanza on the left, we ascend to the vicinity of the Ermita de la Virgen de la Cabeza and descend to the reservoir of Cogollos and the town, which has an interesting Mudejar tower with a clear reference to that of the cathedral of Guadix. A 12th century cistern is preserved in good condition in the centre of the village. We leave Cogollos and the road shows us the gullies of the bad-lands, typical landscape of this region. In the cathedral of Guadix, there are the relics of San Torcuato, disciple of Santiago and one of the apostolic men who was also the founder of the first Episcopal See of the Iberian Peninsula, first Bishop of Guadix and Hispania, the pilgrim can see an exact replica of Michelangelo's Pietà made in one piece and behind the cathedral you can see the recently discovered Roman Theatre.
