Camino Mozárabe desde Almería
Starting the Mozarabic Way from Almeria to Granada, our itinerary follows the chain of the valleys of the rivers Andarax and Nacimiento to head towards Guadix and Granada along the ancient Roman and Muslim roads that linked the cities of Almeria, Guadix and Granada. Starting from the Mediterranean Sea, the diversity of the landscape is impressive in the 200 km of route that the pilgrim will make, jewels of nature such as the Almerian subdesert unique in Europe, the Alpujarra terraces, the mining of the Marquisate, the Band Lands Accitanos or the Natural Monument of the Cárcavas del Marchal.
Protected Natural Areas such as the National and Natural Park of Sierra Nevada and Biosphere Reserve with the highest mountain massif of the Iberian Peninsula and that do not leave indifferent the pilgrim who has the pleasure of living it in his walk.
The heritage legacy of the Camino between Almería and Granada is also impressive. We will find cities that are the origin of civilisations such as the Neolithic city of Los Millares or the third most important taifa of Al-Andalus, the city of Bayyana. A civil, agricultural and religious architecture where we find true works of Mudejar Art in the thirty or so localities through which the Mozarabic Way passes.
¡Buen camino!
