Camino Mozárabe desde Jaén
Pilgrims starting the Way in Jaén will start from the Holy Church Cathedral, a jewel of the Andalusian Renaissance, to head towards Torredelcampo and Jamilena, reaching the monumental towns of Martos and Alcaudete, meeting at some points with the Vía Verde del Aceite, from here they will enter the province of Córdoba.
The Roman road of the Colonia Augusta Gemella Tucci, and the former limits of the Council of Jaén and the Maestrazgo of the Order of Calatrava coincide on this route. You will find a very important reference, San Amador, patron saint of Martos, a Mozarabic saint whose religious service is celebrated under this rite on 5 May, on his feast day.
If you follow this section of the Mozarab Way of St. James, you will be following the same route that has been used for centuries to transport goods and livestock and to travel between Jaén and Córdoba. Iberians, Romans and Arabs appreciated this situation and the fertility of the countryside. All this legacy is preserved in our traditions and forms part of the cultural heritage of the Sierra Sur de Jaén. We invite you to get to know this land and to get to know us.
¡Buen camino!
