STAGE: Alcaudete - Baena
We start from the roundabout where the hospital is located, continuing along the N-432 in the direction of Córdoba. After 2 km there is a turn off the tarmac road onto a path through the olive groves. This path leads to the ruins of two farmhouses, La Tejera Baja and La Alta. Be careful not to go straight on, as the olive grove has made the path disappear.
A little further on we follow another path to the right, perpendicular to the one we are on, which, after crossing a stream and then ascending, will leave us at a farmhouse next to the national road. We climb up this road to cross the Rivers Salado and San Juan. Further on, we take a bend in the road to climb up to a farm building. Passing next to it and following through the olive grove, when we reach a hopper we turn right, reaching the Salobral lagoon. Cross the railway line, which was known as the ‘Tren del Aceite’ (Oil Train).
We then descend to a stream and come out again onto a narrow road. When we reach a farmhouse, we leave this road to continue along a path on the left, also through olive groves. About 1 km from this turn-off we have a house on the right, ‘El Barranco’. Cross another road and continue straight on, this time along a track between olive groves, until you reach an olive oil mill. Further on we pass over the N-432 road, to enter the village next to the olive cooperative ‘Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe’.
