Printing...This 18.5 km route first heads to the parish of San Mamede de Pentes, continues towards O Mente and O Navallo, in the municipality of Riós, and arrives at the town of As Vendas da Barreira.
It is a stretch of contrasting landscapes: small fertile valleys nourished by the Mente River combine with desolate environments and great panoramic views, with continuous ups and downs to overcome small streams, through mountainous terrain where pine forests coexist with native trees and large areas of scrubland.
We always walk close to the N-525 and the A-52 (Autovía das Rías Baixas). Both on this section of the route and on the next, we will pass through numerous ‘soutos’ (chestnut groves) that form part of the European Chestnut Route located in the municipality of Riós, the chestnut capital of Galicia.
As for accommodation and restaurants, there are several establishments along the way and at the end of the stage, but the choice is not very varied.
