STAGE: La Peza - Quentar

Passing by the church and behind the Caños Gordos fountain we climb up to the castle. Shortly after passing the castle, the track to Quéntar turns off to the right. After 2.5 km we reach a crossroads where we turn right to go down to the road. On the hard shoulder we cross La Gitana gorge with its characteristic ruinous landscape of dolomites. A small path quickly appears parallel to the road which, some 300 metres after passing the pass of Los Blancares, leaves the road to reach a turning on the right to continue on the road to Quéntar or turn off to the left to Tocón de Quéntar. Continuing in the direction of Quéntar on the left before the scout hostel there is a recreational area where you can rest and replenish water, from this point begins a climb of 220 m. along 4 km. We continue straight ahead until we reach Puerto Blanco and at the crossroads on the left we pass the abandoned quarry of La Única. From its southern end, straight on and downhill, the path takes us to the La Plata farmhouse where we need walking sticks for the first 2 km due to its steep descent. After 4 km of gentle descent, we reach Qúentar, a very welcoming village.
