After regaining your strength in Sillada and with your sights set on the tomb of the Apostle, just a few kilometres from the exit is Bandeira, a town with all amenities on its main street.
From here on, the route passes through small villages; hermitages, such as San Miguel de Castro or others dedicated to Santiago; small Romanesque churches, surrounded by lush vegetation and hedges of hydrangeas and camellias. After a steep descent, we arrive at Puente Ulla, on the border between the provinces of Pontevedra and A Coruña, marked by the riverbed. We cross it via the old bridge, from where we can see, a little further up, the famous railway viaduct and the new high-speed train line. In Puente Ulla, we must not miss a visit to the Romanesque church of Santa María Magdalena. The river is known for being home to lampreys, a fish that is highly prized in Galician cuisine.
