STAGE: Cartaojal - Villanueva de Algaidas

  • DISTANCE: 12,44 km
  • VILLAGES: 2
  • HOSTING: 3

We continue the route to the end of the village and take a tarmac road to the right, which climbs for 6 kilometres. This is the road towards Cuevas Bajas, although we turn off before we get there, to take the route towards the point of interest of Villanueva de Algaidas.

The path continues along an appreciable downhill stretch for 3 kilometres. On this stretch, and after a gentle climb of 1.5 kilometres, we come to a water fountain on the left, at the entrance to a farmhouse.

On this itinerary we will see two points where we find some stone pillars that correspond to ‘milestones’, which makes it clear that this path was an ancient Roman road, which is still used today as a farm track.

Following the arrows we arrive at Villanueva de Algaidas. In this town the pilgrim has a municipal hostel which is located at number 44 of Calle Granada.
