From Xunqueira de Ambia, along paths and roads, with gentle climbs among oak and mimosa trees, we will pass through several small villages.
We will arrive, via an industrial estate, at Ourense, the capital of the only province in Galicia that does not have a coastline and the province in Spain with the longest border with Portugal. It has a rich heritage of pre-Romanesque, Romanesque and Baroque art, and from a gastronomic point of view, you can enjoy some very good wines: Ribeiro, Godello, Ribeira Sacra and Monterrey with designations of origin. The city has about 130,000 inhabitants, free and paid outdoor hot springs, and a beautiful cathedral. It is worth stopping at the Seixalbo stone cross before reaching the polychrome portico of Paradise, the Burgas, its shopping streets and markets, its gardens and its magnificent Roman Bridge, the pride of the city over the Miño River.
Its many hot springs, where locals and visitors can bathe all year round, will make our walk even more enjoyable.
