We depart from Allariz to travel 22.10 km until we reach Ourense via a beautiful medieval bridge, on the way to another interesting village just 6 km away, Santa Mariña de Augas Santas (although to visit it, you have to deviate from the path and backtrack 300 m).
The area constitutes an exceptional historical complex where, in addition to the spectacular Romanesque church in the village of Santa María, you can visit the 'castro' or 'Cibdá de Armea' located on top of the Casarellas or Muradellas mountain, "O forno da Santa" (The Saint's Oven), and the unfinished Basilica de la Ascensión (Basilica of the Ascension).
The village of Santa Mariña was founded linked to the existence and martyrdom of Mariña, who was decapitated for not resisting the desires of a Roman city prefect from Armea and was buried in "O Forno da Santa".
Extensive and shady oak groves run along the first half of the path until we reach the less fortunate, industrial, and urbanized other half that leads us to Ourense, the provincial capital.
Regarding accommodation, the only available hostel is at the end of the stage, in Ourense, although before arriving we can find some accommodation and some establishments to eat in the municipality of San Cibrao das Viñas.
