STAGE: Salamanca - El Cubo del Tierra del Vino

  • DISTANCE: 34,70 km
  • VILLAGES: 5
  • HOSTING: 7

We say goodbye to Salamanca with a student hangover, and once we have had breakfast in the Plaza Mayor, we set off along Calle Zamora, heading towards the bullring and the football stadium, where we will soon leave the city. The width of Castilla, with its endless fields of cereals, welcomes us in Aldeaseca de Armuña, Castellanos de Villiquera and Calzada de Valdunciel. This small town in Salamanca is proud of its past and its present, recovering old milestones and welcoming modern pilgrims, who, if they divide this long stage, will find everything they need here.

Those who prefer to continue should stock up, as we have a long walk ahead of us with no other company than our own steps. The Camino de Santiago, the N-630 road and the A-66 motorway travel parallel to the north, and will be our companions for several kilometres. Only the view of the prison of Topas, and the crossroads of the road that can take us to the Castle of Buen Amor, serves as a reference in the immensity of the fields of Castile. El Cubo de la Tierra del Vino is the first town in the province of Zamora, a small village where we can rest and tomorrow cross the waters of the Duero River.
