It is the great Way that has united the Peninsula from north to south since time immemorial. Tartessians, Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Carthaginians, Goths, Arabs, Christians, have wandered along its millenary routes.

It is the great Roman road with impeccable remains, bridges, milestones, names that recall the passage of travellers and pilgrims over the centuries. Borderlands and staggered plateaus that, from Cadiz and Seville, will take you into Extremadura, crossing it from south to north through immense pastures, plains and valleys, passing through Mérida and Cáceres to enter Castile and León, where you will reach its highest point at the Pico de la Dueña, crossing pastures and plains until you reach Salamanca, which will welcome you in its streets with the history of its Romanesque and Gothic monuments and the cultural legacy of its University. The Salamanca countryside will accompany you to Zamora and the Duero River, the historic frontier between the Christian kingdoms of the north and the Muslim Al-Andalus, to envelop you in its religiosity, culture and history.

In the province of Zamora, in the town of Granja de Moreruela, we invite you to continue your pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela along the well-known Sanabrés Way.

¡Buen camino!
